TRAGEDY STRIKES HAITI: WHO WE ARE AND OUR OBJECTIVES

A 17- kilowatt generator and solar panels have been acquired to provide electricity. Medical teams have been organized and stand ready to serve as soon as the building phase of this project has been completed. To date we have four teams - a surgical team, complete a plastic surgeon, anesthesia personnel, and surgical nurses to perform routine surgical procedures as well as cleft palate reconstruction; a medical team to treat infectious diseases, and common medical maladies; OB-GYN doctors, which will provide prenatal and gynecological care; and a world-class cataract surgeon. Efforts are now being coordinated with bush pilots to fly these teams in and out of the country. A group of volunteer Haitian workers wait anxiously to commence building their new clinic. However, there is much more work to be done. We need people and organizations that are benevolent-minded to assist us in this effort. Many of the items that we have received so far that have been so crucial to the success of this ministry are medical “throw away” items, or obsolete items! It is our request that your organization would partner with us in this important mission in a practical way. We would humbly ask that before a piece of medical equipment or pharmaceutical is discarded, that it be considered for use in Haiti. No item is too small, and anything would be deeply appreciated.
